Preparing compliance leads for audit interviews
Interview days go better when speakers know which binder section backs each answer and when to pause for evidence.

Audit interviews are conversations with a paper trail nearby. The strongest compliance leads in our fieldwork treat each question as a bridge to a specific binder tab rather than an invitation to improvise.
Before fieldwork, walk through the likely topics—onboarding exceptions, overdue complaints, open audit findings—and assign a primary speaker and a document runner. The runner’s job is to place the right sample in front of the reviewer while the speaker answers. That simple division keeps answers short and accurate.
It also helps to rehearse one uncomfortable truth. If a control slipped for two weeks during a system migration, say so and show the compensating checks you ran. Reviewers notice when a narrative is too smooth; a candid gap with dated evidence usually lands better than a vague assurance that “everything was covered.”
